Do I need previous Model UN experience?
No. NewAgeMUN is designed to be accessible to people who have never participated in Model United Nations. You'll receive the information and resources you need to understand your role and participate effectively.
Is NewAgeMUN only for adults?
NewAgeMUN is designed primarily around an adult audience, but the conference is open to all ages. The goal is to create an experience that is engaging and challenging regardless of your academic or professional background.
What actually happens during a conference?
Delegates represent countries or other actors and work through a simulated international situation. You'll negotiate with other delegates, form alliances, draft agreements, respond to developments, and compete based on your performance.
Is this a debate competition?
Not exactly. Debate and public speaking can be useful, but NewAgeMUN is primarily about diplomacy, negotiation, strategy, and decision-making. The strongest delegate isn't necessarily the person who speaks the most.
How much will it cost?
We currently expect the inaugural conference to cost approximately $55 per participant. Final pricing will depend on the venue, committee structure, and other conference details.

When and where will the first conference be?
The inaugural NewAgeMUN conference is currently planned for Cedar Rapids, Iowa in Fall 2027. The specific date and venue have not yet been finalized. We're using the interest list to help determine whether there is enough demand to move forward.
Does joining the interest list commit me to attending?
No. Joining the interest list is completely free and does not commit you to purchasing a ticket or attending the conference. It simply lets us know that you'd like to hear when registration becomes available.
